Andy's Index of Icons - Andreas Ley A large and down-to-earth collection of icons for HTML development including - Arrows - Balls - Buttons - Calendar - Flags - Logos - Rulers. Much is of local interest only. Reviewed 1/14/96

AOSICS WWW Graphics Resources Another collection of collections. Categories covered include: Arrows and Pointers, Backgrounds, Buttons, Dots and Balls, Icons, Lines, Counters and Other indexes like this. Reviewed 2/23/97

The Bit Map Vault "Our main goal is to provide easy access to commonly needed bitmaps. We accomplish this by searching the WWW to find Icons, Divider Bars, Bullets, and other small bitmaps and databasing them. The Bitmap Vault can be seperated into three entities. bob the database interface, benny the bit map worm, and boris the social worker." CERN Icons Is Internet Establishment an oxymoron? Well, you're at the WWW hub. This is a megacollection. You'll find the "403 forbidden" messages annoying and you may have access problems because of the volume of traffic. Reviewed 1/14/96

The Design Shop A good collection of clipart and icons in categories: Bullets, Direction Icons (arrows), Lines and Misc Clip Art. Crisply presented site. Easy to navigate. Reviewed 12/13/96

Dvaita Home Page Icon Collection - Shrisha Rao A small collection of the icons and images used on the Dvaita Home Page. Categories include Arrows, Backgrounds, Balls, Bars and lines, Buttons, Miscellaneous, and Blue Ribbon campaign. Reviewed 6/14/96

Filez - Graphics - Icons This site provides FTP access to SimTel and WinSite archives of Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 icon sets. The main site offers a Netwide file search capability. I tried locating several files without apparent success. Maybe you'll do better. Reviewed 2/25/97

Flinux Icon Archive A fine collection of images for HTML development. You'll find categories: 3dcolor 3dgray 64x38 arrow balls buttons comic-people computer disks-tape documents flags folder games graphics lines logos mail misc myfavor office panel signs simcity whole icons The entire collection is available for download as a tar file. I don't know why SimCity is not included in the games category. Reviewed 3/4/97

Icon Browser - University of Pisa A stellar and eclectic colletion of icons mostly in large montage files. You'll need to do a little cutting and cleaning up but it will be worth the effort. There is a search engine to help locate the graphics files, too. View the U.S. mirror at UNC's SunSite. Reviewed 1/17/96, updated 9/24/96

Iconolog 96 - Ann E. Cleary "Iconolog is a collection of 22,963 windows icons (.ico) A selection of 2782 .icos have been converted to .gifs & can be viewed from The Best of the Iconolog. Both collections have been indexed by category & subject." This is a truly monumental collection of Windows icons. Now in glorious, living frames! If it isn't here, it doesn't exist. There are links to other icon collections and icon viewers, as well. Last Reviewed 6/6/96

Icons 'n Stuff A nicely presented basic collection in categories: Animated, Arrows, Backgrounds, Bars, Bullets, Buttons, Flags, Images and Signs. Reviewed 7/6/97

Moby's Icon Archive A small, but interesting collection of buttons, bars, arrows, lines and miscellaneous stuff. The 3D buttons are nicely done and would serve as excellent templates. Reviewed 1/17/96

NetCreators Icon Page - Magnus Gurne An small but excellent collection of icons and images for HTML development. Very nicely presented. The Categories: Backgrounds, Balls, Bars, Construction Icons, Mail Icons, Mixed Icons Page, Mixed Icons Page, Mozilla Icons, People and Cartoons, Text Icons and Tiny Icons. Much improved since my last visit. Reviewed 8/16/96. Updated 12/13/96

Net~User's Web Art Library - Sean Cazzell A good basic collection of backgrounds, dots, arrows, bars and gizmos. The library also includes some interesting animated icons. Reviewed 5/29/96, Updated 8/6/96

Nix Icon Directory A relatively large and nicely organized collection of images and icons gathered from around the Web. It includes - Arrows, Backgrounds, Bars, Round, Picture and Square Bullets, 3D icons, Checks and X's, Logos, Sports Icons, 'Under Construction' Icons and Images and more. Reviewed 1/15/96

Oak Icon Archive Oak's extensive collection of Windows icons and icon editors and viewers for Windows. All files are zipped archives. Make your own icons and convert them for HTML. Reviewed 1/16/96

PHOTOICONS This commercial site from IcoNation offers impressive and beautiful icons for use in customizing Windows applications They could just as easily (with permission, of course) be used to decorate your WWW pages. Only a few are available free for the clicking. The collections are theme-oriented and delivered on diskette. Reviewed 1/14/96

PixelPlace.com Formerly "Benber Does Icons," this is nn unusual, large and interesting collecion of icons with a very novel and crisp presentation. It includes the "Icon Factory" so you can design your own. There is a large *.GIFts section free for the taking, a colleciton of true Windows 95 icons in .ICO format, junk icons, page dividers (rulers) and lost of other kewl stuff. Psyched Up Graphics A huge collection of images in categories: 3D Gray, Animal, Arrows, Background, Back, Balls, Bars, Buttons, Comics, Computers, Construction, Earth, House, Letters, Lines, Mail, Misc, Money, More Balls, Movie, News, Numbers, Other, Small, Sound, Symbols, Users Own and Weird. A bit slow to load because of the graphics-intense presentation but worth the wait. Many of the images presented here came originally from the IconBAZAAR and other collections and are presented here without proper credit. Reviewed 2/23/97

Stephen's Icon Library - Stephen Doyle A large and well-organized collection of images from around the Web in categories: animations, arrows, lines, home page icons, email icons, under construction icons and miscellaneous icons and images. Reviewed 9/5/96

Terry Gould's Graphics A large collection of images, large and small. The site is well-organized and nicely designed. You'll find not only the standard arrows, bars, buttons and gizmos but also a lot of superb original images suitable for reduction to icons. Reviewed 1/15/96

Virtual Icon Collection - OhBoy A large collection of icons, some original, most collected from around the Web. The images are displayed on the page so be patient... it takes a while to load, but its' worth the wait. Reviewed 2/8/96

Web Developer's Virtual Library: Images and Icons A collection of collections with a search engine and lots of other stuff - how-tos, FAQs, etc.. Reviewed 1/14/96

Web Design - Robert Bernhard "Welcome to my Web Page Design page. Hopefully, this page will be a referance for web icons, graphics, utilities, and more in order to better aid you in your web page creation." A small collection drawn from other sites. You'll find categories: Arrows, Buttons, Computers, Productivity, Rules and Textures - along with links to HTML editors and "Larger icons for faster connections" whatever they are. Reviewed 6/20/96

Zima Icons "Kinda like Marilyn Monroe only smaller. Everyone needs to have small symbolic representations to enable their work. What you have in this area is an assortment of .pic and .ico files which will look great on your desktop. You can also print these babies out, slap magnets on the back of 'em and put them on your fridge. But, of course, that would mean that you had no life. Click."
